Introduction

If you’ve found your way to my blog, I can safely make a few assumptions.

  1. You need/want more money. I totally get it. Life is hard, the economy isn’t treating you right, you’re starting a new business and need to bootstrap for cash, whatever. Finding and selling scrap metal can be a lucrative way to get more money on your own schedule (mostly).
  2. You’re not sure how to start. Well now you’re in luck, because I do. I have a lifetime of experience buying and selling scrap materials, and I’m happy to help others find their way. That’s what this blog is all about, getting people started in recycling.
  3. You have junk laying around… If your house is starting to look like a hoarder lives in it, welcome, you’re amongst friends.

If the above are true than you’ve found the right place. In the coming weeks, depending on interest, I’ll be updating this site with the specifics of freelance junking. Topics will include:

  1. Metal identification and classification
  2. Processing materials to get the most money out of them
  3. Negotiation tactics for dealing with the big guys
  4. Where to find materials and how to obtain them

So if you’re interested and you’re tired of struggling to get started in this lucrative, highly profitable business, let me know in the comments.
